Vince Zampella, the mind behind the globally famous franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in Los Angeles, California he was 55 years old.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The influential industry figure lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, according to.
