The President Calls Families of Shot National Guard Soldiers to the White House

President Trump stated on the weekend that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He mentioned that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Tragic Shooting

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a attack on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Gatherings across the state have taken place in their honor.

Presidential Invitation

The president said he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the parents of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” Trump informed reporters. “And likewise with him, no matter the outcome.”

Community Reaction

Attendees assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both they had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to support public safety in DC.

Remembering Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that educators desired. She behaved with calm resilience, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that lifted people around her,” Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the press. “She was sweet, caring and always eager to support those in need.”

Funeral arrangements for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Actions and Government Adjustments

Officials have accused a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of murder and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The event caused the government to halt asylum processing and temporarily stop providing visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, according to the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor the governor stated on television.

Attorney general Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she also intended to visit the family.

Impact of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a law enforcement officer with excellence, according to the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had courage,” the governor told the audience at the vigil. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
