Devoted followers of Ariana Grande are urging that a person who leaped a barrier and grabbed the actress during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be taken into custody or deported from Singapore.
A viral clip shows the Australian man pushing past media personnel and charging at Grande while the actors made its way down a promenade surrounded by fans.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the event by security officers.
Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "released after being detained", though legal records revealed that he was scheduled to appear on the following morning. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile includes recordings of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at the pop singer's Sydney performance in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers event in the city last winter.
"There needs to be action taken against him as this is evidently a legal violation," commented an Instagram commenter, in a response to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user wrote.
Several fans accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the finale of her May 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring many.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented one more response on Instagram.
Several supporters also criticised security officers at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while some requested social media platforms to remove Mr Wen's content.
In footage spreading on the internet, Grande seemed surprised when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.
Grande has not commented on the incident, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.
Many of supporters had assembled in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore mall, including a number who had waited for as long as eight hours before it began.
The movie, to be released on 21 November, is the sequel of a two-film adaptation of the popular Broadway and West End show Wicked, which revolves around the surprising relationship between two distinct sorceresses.
The show itself is a adaptation of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was dressed in a rosé sequin dress at the event while Erivo, who plays the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress decorated with roses.
They were accompanied by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of the previous year in the UK, and scored ten Academy Award nods, earning a pair for outstanding attire and production design.
